Help Us Build CIAC
We’re building more than a website—we’re building the Cape & Islands Accessibility Collaborative. We’re committed to making this site as accessible as the communities we’re working to create. Professional accessibility design and development is estimated at $2,500–$6,000. We’re seeking volunteers, donated professional services, and financial support to help complete this work. If you believe in a more accessible Cape & Islands, we’d love your help.
Helping Municipalities Build More Accessible Communities
We acknowledge the municipal reality of limited staff, competing priorities, and evolving requirements in the effort to serve every resident.
You don’t have to navigate it alone.
Why We’re Starting With Municipalities
Municipalities shape nearly every aspect of community life, from sidewalks and parks to emergency communications and meetings. When accessibility is built into planning from the start, the entire community benefits—residents, visitors, and nonprofits alike. Strengthening municipal systems first creates the greatest long-term impact for our broad mission.
Building Accessibility Infrastructure
Infrastructure is more than just concrete and wires. We help municipalities build the knowledge, planning, financial paths, and community connections needed for lasting accessibility improvements.
How We Help Municipalities Succeed
Regional Collaboration
Connect with peers across the Cape to share real-world accessibility lessons.
Practical Resources
Access localized templates for policies, procurement, and public outreach.
Funding Opportunities
Identify state, federal, and local funding matches for your town’s projects.
Resident Insights
Center your planning on the practical expertise of residents with disabilities.
Strategic Roadmap
Move from legal requirements to a clear path for community progress.
Best Practices
Stay updated on evolving accessibility standards and service delivery models.
ADA Self-Evaluations & Transition Plans
These documents provide a roadmap for removing barriers in municipal programs and facilities. CIAC supports towns by clarifying steps, sharing regional examples, and helping leadership use results to guide meaningful action rather than just legal compliance.
Website & Digital Accessibility
Accessible websites ensure all residents can access essential services and news. We help towns understand their current digital presence, prioritize fixes, and connect with technical expertise to build better service delivery for everyone.
MOD ADA Improvement Grants
These grants support capital improvements and planning projects that remove architectural or communication barriers. CIAC helps towns prepare applications, define project scopes, and connect their local accessibility needs to available state funding paths.
Other Funding Paths
In addition to MOD grants, we help towns explore local CPA funds, state community development grants, and federal infrastructure opportunities. CIAC serves as a guide to help you navigate options and find the right match for your project collectively.
Funding & Grant Opportunities
We help towns find and make use of funding for accessibility infrastructure. Funding is a key part of the lasting progress CIAC helps towns achieve access.

Regional Collaboration for Municipalities
Towns don’t have to reinvent the wheel. One town’s success becomes another town’s starting point. CIAC facilitates the sharing of templates, real-world examples, and lessons learned, connecting peers across the Cape and Islands to solve common accessibility challenges together.
